Bronco Raptor Recalls (2022-2026): NHTSA Campaign Digest
Comprehensive list of Bronco Raptor recalls from 2022 to 2026, grouped by system. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to verify if your vehicle is affected.

The short answer: the Bronco Raptor has been named in more than 20 NHTSA recall campaigns since it launched for the 2022 model year, and the ones that matter most involve the front suspension (upper control arm ball joints and lower control arm fasteners that can let a wheel assembly separate), two separate automatic transmission campaigns, and a 2026 engine issue tied to piston manufacturing. None of these are optional, and none cost you anything at a Ford dealer regardless of mileage or warranty status. This digest groups what is currently on file by system so you can scan for your symptom and build year, then confirm it yourself with your own VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls before assuming anything from this page applies to your truck.
A word on how NHTSA data works before you read the list: recalls are filed against the Bronco nameplate as a whole, not the Bronco Raptor trim specifically, because NHTSA tracks campaigns at the model level. The large majority of Bronco recalls cover the full lineup, Raptor included, but a few are tied to parts, like a specific door latch supplier lot, that never shipped on every trim. We have flagged the two campaigns where Ford's own filing explicitly names the Raptor trim, but the safest move is always the VIN lookup, not trim-level guessing from an article. For the recall history of every other Raptor model, see the Ford Raptor recalls campaign-level digest.
Suspension: the ball joint and control arm recalls
This is the group that should get your attention first, because the failure mode in every case is a wheel assembly coming loose from the truck.
24V770000 (2024-2025 model years): the front upper control arm ball joint nut may not have been installed or torqued correctly at the plant, which can let the upper control arm separate from the knuckle. 25V310000 covers the same failure mode on 2024-2025 trucks, filed separately because it traces to a different fastener population. 25V260000 covers the identical upper ball joint defect for 2025 model year trucks under its own filing. 25V308000 (2024-2025 model years) is the lower control arm version: front lower control arm fasteners that may not have been tightened to spec, letting the control arm separate from the frame.
If you have ever had a clunk or a pop from the front end over bumps, do not assume it is one of these recalls and move on, and do not assume it is not. The symptom overlaps heavily with normal wear items like sway bar end links and worn ball joint bushings that are not safety recalls at all. We cover the diagnostic path for that clunk, recall or not, in the Bronco Raptor front-end clunk guide.
Transmission: two separate campaigns, different root causes
23V070000 (2022-2023 model years): a loose bolt in the automatic transmission that can prevent proper engagement. 26V236000 is newer and broader, covering 2022-2025 model years, and describes a different mechanism: the joint between the transmission output and the transfer case can be misaligned if a previous repair was done incorrectly, which wears the output shaft splines and the transfer case over time. That second one matters most if your truck has ever had transmission or transfer case work done, recall-related or not, since Ford's description ties the defect to an improper repair rather than a build issue alone.
Neither of these is the shudder-and-harsh-shift complaint discussed constantly around the 10R80 transmission on Gen 2 and Gen 3 F-150 Raptor forums. That is a separate, non-recall TSB-level repair on a different truck's gearbox, and a TSB is a documented repair procedure, not a free recall. We cover that issue in the 10R80 harsh shift and torque converter shudder writeup. If your Bronco Raptor has an open transmission recall, treat it as unrelated to that F-150 complaint and do not let a service writer conflate the two.
Engine: wiring harness and a 2026 piston issue
26V468000 covers 2022-2026 model years and is specifically about the engine compartment wiring harness, which can chafe and short circuit; this is one of only two campaigns on this list where NHTSA's filing explicitly names the Raptor trim. 26V343000 (2025-2026 model years) is filed under engine and engine cooling hardware and describes an engine failure that results in a loss of drive power while underway. 26V548000 is narrower still, limited to 2026 model year trucks: engine piston domes that may have been manufactured out of spec, which can lead to piston dome failure and the same loss of drive power. If you own a 2026 Bronco Raptor, run the VIN check specifically for this one. A loss of drive power recall is not a convenience issue, it is a get-it-fixed-now issue.
Steering
23V155000 (2022-2023 model years) is the other campaign on this list that NHTSA's own filing explicitly flags as applying to the Raptor trim. Internal damage to the steering gear can increase steering effort or, in the worst case, cause the wheel to lock up. This is not one to wait on just because the truck still "feels fine."
Brakes
Two 2025 filings, 25V488000 and 25V823000, both cover the Electronic Brake Booster (EBB, the module that provides power assist to the hydraulic brakes) malfunctioning while driving or while an advanced driver assistance system is active. Both are limited to 2025 model year trucks as filed. If your brake pedal has ever felt soft or inconsistent, or you have had an unexpected ABS or traction-control light, check these two before paying out of pocket for brake diagnosis.
Electrical: seats and instrument cluster
25V721000 and 26V268000 both describe the same defect, a loose or dislodged seat frame height-adjust pivot bolt on the front seats, with 25V721000 covering 2022-2023 model years and 26V268000 extending the fix to 2024-2026 trucks. 25V788000 (2025-2026 model years) covers the instrument panel cluster failing at startup, which is its own problem even before you get to the safety implications of losing your speedometer mid-drive.
Body and structure
26V403000 is broad, covering 2022-2026 model years: fender flares that may not be properly secured and can detach from the vehicle. 26V299000 is narrower, limited to 2022 model year trucks with the 3-door and 5-door Molded-In-Color hardtop, where sections of the outer roof panel may have been manufactured improperly and can separate from the vehicle. Check both if you run a hardtop on an early build.
Back-over prevention: cameras, windshield bonding, software
This is the largest cluster by count, even though no single filing in it is as dramatic as the suspension or engine issues above. 22V451000 (2022 model year) covers windshield bonding that may not properly secure the glass in a crash. 22V825000, 23V165000, 25V273000, and 25V312000 are four separate filings addressing rearview camera defects across different build windows and supplier batches, covering 2022 and, in the case of 25V273000, 2022-2023 model years. Ford's language varies filing to filing, but the common thread across these is the backup camera image either failing to display correctly or sticking on screen after a backing maneuver ends. 25V315000 (2022-2024 model years) and 26V124000 (2022-2026 model years, the broader follow-up) both describe the Accessory Protocol Interface Module, the infotainment hub that runs the backup camera feed, overheating and shutting down, which kills the rearview display along with it.

Report dates are NHTSA filing dates, not the date your dealer has parts in stock. Some campaigns remedy in phases as parts become available; call your dealer with your VIN for the real timeline on your truck.
What Ford actually owes you here
A recall remedy is always free, regardless of mileage or whether you are the original owner, because it rests on a safety defect determination, not a warranty claim. There is no deductible, no goodwill discretion involved, and no expiration tied to your Ford powertrain warranty. That is different from a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB), which is a repair procedure Ford publishes for a known issue but is only free if the truck is still inside its applicable warranty window, or if a service advisor chooses to apply it under goodwill at their own discretion.
If a dealer tells you a recall repair will cost you anything, that is wrong, and you can escalate through Ford's customer service line or file a complaint directly with NHTSA. If a recall remedy is listed as pending on the NHTSA site, Ford is required to notify you by mail when parts are ready; you should not need to keep calling the dealer in the meantime unless you are seeing active symptoms, in which case push for an interim fix or a loaner.
The short version
- Check your specific VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls before doing anything else. Trim-level guessing from any article, including this one, is not a substitute.
- The suspension recalls (24V770000, 25V260000, 25V310000, 25V308000) deserve immediate attention if you have any front-end noise or play, since the failure mode is a wheel assembly separating from the truck.
- 2026 model year owners should specifically check for the piston dome recall (26V548000), which is newer and narrower than most of this list.
- Recall repairs are always free and not tied to your warranty status; TSB repairs are not automatically free once you are out of warranty.
- For the clunk-diagnosis path separate from these recalls, see the Bronco Raptor front-end clunk breakdown, and for how this truck's recall history compares to the F-150 Raptor and Ranger Raptor lineups, see the full Ford Raptor recall digest.
